Itinerary
We’ll all have that Friday feeling, knowing we’re about to spend the May Bank Holiday at sea! You can meet anytime after 7:00pm at Port Hamble Marina ready for sunset drinks – if the UK weather permits and dinner in the marina. Friday night is purely about getting to know the crew and socialising – we don’t set off until Saturday morning.
Starting the day sailing the Solent past the stunning Isle of Wight, we’ll be sandwiched between the Hamstead Heritage Coast on the Isle of Wight on the port side and the North Solent nature reserve on the starboard side – truly a feast for the eyes! As we get in to the open, keep a look out for seals and dolphins and if you’re lucky we might spot the occasional basking shark! We’ll send the night anchored in the stunning Studland Bay just adjacent to Sandbanks in Poole. A beach BBQ is planned here and some swimming in the shallows of the bay.
On Sunday morning we’ll sail along from Studland Bay passing the impressive Old Harry’s rocks and visit Durdle Door arch before returning to anchor in the horseshoe shaped bay of Lulworth cove – one of the most impressive rock formations in the UK. We’ve got an afternoon of kayaking lined up for those who fancy it, to allow us to get up really close to the coastline and check out this striking scenery. We’ll kayak around the stunning Lulworth Cove before settling on the sand for a barbecue and beach party – yes you don’t have to be in the med to have a beach party!

Monday morning we’ll make our way back to the Port Hamble, stopping for the odd swim – if you’re brave enough on the way! We’ll start early today and break the day into 2 parts – a sail from Lulworth cove to Hurst point where we will anchor for lunch in the shadow of Henry VIII’s coastal fortress – Hurst Castle. After lunch we will set sail back down the most popular sailing grounds the UK – the Solent – arriving back to Port Hamble ~ 5 p.m.
