Itinerary

Join the yachts in the town of Portisco, those who arrive early can stroll the marina and enjoy a spritz in the sun. We’ll set sail around midday and head to the tiny island of Tavolara which rises an impressive 600m out of the sea. With macchia and pine trees sprawled over most of the island with lots of typically Sardinian style single storey stone cottages dotted in between, this quaint little island is a perfect setting for our first evening. We’ll anchor in the Bay of Spaltamore, in time for us to witness sunset from the most beautiful beach.

We’ll start our first full day of sailing, following the coastline of Sardinia northwards, sailing between anchored mega yachts on the Costa Smeralda – the highest concentration of Super yachts anywhere in the world. We’ll spend the day people watching, snorkelling, taking full advantage of the best swimming spots. This evening we’ll enjoy a night in harbour at Porto Cervo. Before enjoying a group meal out, you can have a nosy and visit the most expensive real estate in all of Europe, in this town. Marvel at the incredible architecture as you imagine buying your dream holiday home.

Day 3 will begin with a special sail into the stunning beach and waters of the Maddalena Archipelago, described by Conde Nast Traveller as Sardinia’s secret islands. Stopping at Isola Maddalena we’ll be spending the night in harbour at La Maddalena. Here the Sardinian gastronomic specialities await us. For those feeling athletic a hike up to the Guardia Vecchia viewpoint, behind the town offers unparalleled panoramic views of the glittering Strait of Bonifacio.

On day 4 we’ll take advantage of being in actual paradise. We’ll stop at as many islands and secluded coves as we like on our way towards Isola Budelli, one of Italy’s best-kept secrets. You’ll truly feel like you’re in another world visiting the Famous pink sands of Spiagga Rosa beach. We’ll spend the night at anchor here in a secluded bay ideal for snorkelling and swimming before sunset and dinner al fresco under the stars on board our yachts.

The ‘piste de resistance’ of a Sardinian sailing trip is Bonifacio harbour on the southern tip of Corsica. Without a doubt the most beautiful harbour in all the Mediterranean – truly something to behold. A natural harbour strategically located on the southernmost tip of Corsica. A Napoleonic Fort that holds a special place in our hearts, the previous playground of such notables as Napoleon Bonaparte, it is so majestic we defy you not to fall in love. The town is brimming with wondrous French and Italian restaurants, so we’ll have a group meal here and take in the magnificence of Bonifacio.

On the home straight of our Sardinian adventure, day 6 sees us sailing south from French Corsica back into Italian waters – did we mention you get 2 countries in 1 week? We’ll stop again by the Maddalena islands but this time the island of Spargi. Spargi island has many species of protected birds, there’s also the Maritime Museum which has artefacts and remains from Roman ships.

Take advantage of having a morning swim, jump in and awaken yourself in with a dose of Vitamin Sea! We’ll enjoy breakfast on board under the August sun before leaving the archipelago of La Maddalena behind. Now we make our way back to the “Emerald Coast”, the Costa Smerelda. Stopping for a midday swim and final lunch in the bay of Pevero, nestled in between two white sandy beaches. Enjoy a final swim before we make our way back to Portisco.
