Terms & Conditions
Special conditions Season 2021 – our Flexi booking Policy
Due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic and the associated lockdowns, plus restrictions on Travel in Europe and the rest of the world, please note that we have introduced a very generous Flexi booking policy to protect you and your money.
IF in the event that either
1) The proposed destination country is not allowing tourism at the time of the proposed trip and/or has implemented protocols that make it impossible for the majority of our guests to travel to said destination, OR
2) Your country of residence is not allowing persons to depart your country for the purpose of holiday travel, then Sailing the Med will either defer that trip to the same destination in the same week in Season 2022. This will ONLY happen in the event that British tourists are largely restricted from travelling to the destination.
In the instance that YOU personally are restricted from travelling from your country (but the trip is going ahead) then you will be provided with the same value credit on any future trip in 2022 or provided the option to switch to another trip in season 2021. You must, however, provide us with no less than 8 weeks notice that you are unable to travel from your country of residence to attend the trip you have booked by emailing info@SailingtheMed.com
Please note that credits can only be carried forward 1 season maximum.
Sailing the Med will NOT charge you any money to defer and you should also ensure you book flights with airlines who have a flexible change policy with regards to deferment. If you simply decide not to join the trip for your own personal reasons, then you will forfeit your deposit.
Revised Payments schedule & Refund policy
Please note that we do NOT offer refunds and are not bound by ATOL regulations in that regard. By entering into these terms and conditions you agree to our policy above and agree that you will not invoke or try to invoke any refund either via your credit card company or bank or any payment platform.
For season 2021 your 2nd payment will be due at the end of April 2021 (25%) and your final payment (50%) must be made no less than 4 weeks prior to departure (usually 6 weeks).
The health of our guests
As of 1st February, it is Sailing the Med’s policy that all guests must present a Negative COVID PCR test prior to joining the trip which is taken either immediately before your departure from your country of residence or upon your arrival in the destination country (subject to the rules being enforced by the authorities of both countries).
We successfully ran a trial Flotilla in August 2020 (30 persons and 3 yachts) which resulted in 100% compliance from guests and no instances of guests either being infected or infecting others

- YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR BOOKING:
When you make a booking you guarantee that you have the authority and the capacity to accept and do accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. This means that you are responsible for making all payments due, notifying us if any changes or cancellations are required and for receiving the confirmation and keeping your party informed.
For full yacht/boat bookings only, the party leader is obliged to provide us with a list of crew members embarking the boat or yacht not less than 30 days prior to departure. All correspondence will be sent to the party leader. It is the
party leader responsibility who made the booking with us to ensure all party members on the booking, or those added at a later time, are sent the booking confirmation.
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured. We require that you and all persons with your party to take out FULL comprehensive travel insurance as soon as you make a Deposit payment, which will include cover against the cost of cancellation by you and assistance (including repatriation) in the event of accident or illness to you or any of your party, either before or during your week. Your chosen insurance must also cover you in the event of any matters arising that may lead to your national gov’t advising against non essential travel to the country in which the trip is taking place. This should include but is not limited to incidents arising due to natural disaster, strikes, terrorism, war or pandemic.
It is imperative that your travel insurance covers activities undertaken on a sailing holiday (sailing, swimming, snorkelling as a minimum) and importantly recognizes a yacht as your accommodation for the trip. For policies which limit sailing activities to a particular distance offshore, please be advised that we do not sail more than 15 miles from any coast line or port of safe haven. Adventure sailing is excluded from this.
We also suggest to EU residents that you have European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which will allow reciprocal rights for EU citizens to free access to public hospitals in the event of severe injury or illness. This does NOT absolve you of your responsibility to take out comprehensive travel insurance which provides health insurance covers all potential injury and illness.

After our confirmation has been issued, any requests for changes must be sent to us by email by the person that made the booking. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate your request but we will try to do so. You will be asked to pay an administration fee of [£65] plus any charge made by our suppliers. These are likely to be higher the closer you get to your arrival date, so contact us as soon as you can.
- IF YOU WANT TO CANCEL YOUR BOOKING:
The person that made the booking must put this in email (preferred) or registered mail to our registered office address. Because we incur costs in cancelling confirmed bookings, particularly if cancellations occur close to arrival date, you will be charged a cancellation fee. Cancellation fees: If you cancel

- 75% of the total price if a reservation has been cancelled more than 1 month but less than 2 months prior to the departure date
- 100% of the total price if a reservation has been cancelled less than a month prior to the departure date.
In this category of cancellations are also the situations when the Client does not come for the check-in (no-show), or

100% cancellation fee applies and Client does not have a right for any refund.

provider, the company principal or an assigned skipper, as to cause or to be likely to cause danger, upset or distress to anyone else or damage to property. This will be negotiated between Sail the Med and the charter company.
