Itinerary

Starting the week in the town of Fethiye, this beautiful bay is just 45 minutes from the airport of Dalaman. Have a stroll throughout the old town, pick up a souvenir from the local bazaar and wander the taverna lined seafront before we set sail in the afternoon.
We’ll spend our first evening in the islands just off the town of Gocek. Protected in 1988 as an area of special protection meaning the town has no high-rise buildings. Surrounded rich green pine forests is the international yachting town of Gocek. We’ll spend the first evening on board the yachts mooring in the shelter of these secluded islands, sleeping under the stars.

Awakening with the excitement of our first full day at sea, we’ll ease you into sailing with a short sail. Stopping for a mid-morning swim in secret coves before making our way to the charming totally isolated Ciftlik Bay. With no access for 30 miles to any towns, Ciftlik is famous for its wonderful bay, unique large sandy beach surrounded with pine covered forests. We’ve got a treat in store for you here, the most genuine homecooked food in a wonderful restaurant, Mehmet’s Palace.

Today we sail west along the coastline of the Dalaman region to the small harbour town of Datca, dating back to the Dorian times. Those of you know Sailing the Med, will know that James loves a cultural visit, so we’ll take a trip to explore the historic Greek ruins at the ancient city of Knidos. A visit to the old part of Datca is a must, walk through the whitewashed houses, through beautiful tiny streets to witness the greatest example of traditional architecture of the region.

Today we sail past the enchanting Dodecanese islands you won’t be able to get enough of the simple pleasure of our daily stops to swim and snorkel in Turkey’s finest turquoise coast. Hidden coves, endless empty sandy beaches, (for the brave) a deep-sea swim. We’ll arrive into Bozburun mid-afternoon. Famous for its wonderful bay, fresh sea food at the restaurants, organic village life, shipyards, workshops and slipways on the shore, yacht club and ancient city of Larymna. We’ll enjoy a big group meal here this evening.

Don’t let the charm of this old town and it’s Ottoman Castle deceive you, Marmaris is a town of many faces. It also happens to be the ultimate party town and one the best nights out in all of Turkey! The tropical sea and white sandy beaches pull people from all over Europe each year to this lively town. Restaurants, bazaars, waterparks and the best bars in Turkey, save your best dress for this evening!

Today we’ll head south into the open Mediterranean Sea and towards the magical town of Ekincik Limani. Surrounded by pine clad hills, a wood-lined shore this traditional village is peace personified. We’ll moor here and head inland to explore and the nearby mud baths and hot springs. After an afternoon of ultimate relaxation, we go to supper at My Marina for the BEST meal of the week.

After breakfast on deck, we’ll have a chilled sail back to Fethiye. Here we’ll celebrate our final evening in the marina, finishing this incredible week off dining alfresco, watching fresh fish get cooked in front of you, sipping on sundowners watching the sunset.
