This epic sailing adventure starts from the quaint town of Alimos just South of Athens, situated close to the historic town of Pireaus. Arrive into Greece early and explore the former home of the Ancient Greek navy. We’ll set sail at 4pm and follow the magnificent coastline South until we reach the historic town of Sounio. We’ll get you there in time for sunset at the ancient Temple of Poseidon, truly a sight to behold. The fun doesn’t stop after dark though, we’ll be celebrating our first night in style in the town – so if you arrive into Greece after 4pm that evening you can join us any time directly in Sounio.

Get your sea legs ready for a morning on the open sea. We’ll stop for a midday swim on our way to the uninhabited island of Dokos. The turquoise waters and rocky outcrops of this island will be our home for the evening.

Today we head to the mythical island of Hydra. Arriving at midday so we can get the full experience of this magical island, where the only form of transport is donkey. One of the trip highlights, with its outstanding architecture, white washed houses with terracotta roofs built into the hillside, not to mention the abundance of picturesque tavernas. Don’t be fooled this town becomes alive at night and the ouzo will be flowing!

From Hydra we set sail for Perdika. There’ll be plenty of reasons to get the snorkels out during this beautiful day sailing around the Saronic islands, before we spend a chilled evening in the traditional fishing village of Perdika,

For those of you in need of a cultural fix UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Temple of Asklepios in Epidavros will blow your socks off! One of the worlds incredible wonders, this ancient Roman Amphitheatre has been wonderfully persevered and casually has the most magnificent backdrop of the Greek mainland. After this we’ll settle down in the bay of Epidavros for a banging beach party that evening.

Now we put you to the test, who’s been listening and who hasn’t, as we welcome the Annual STM Sailing Race – no skippers allowed! Some serious swimming delights to be discovered as we reach our final island, the amazing island of Poros. Get your glad rags out and your dancing shoes on as we paint the town red on town red, after our prize giving dinner in the most happening town in the region!

Nothing like a day on the open ocean to help you blow away the cobwebs! We’ve got yet more magical swimming stops, enchanting islands and stunning scenery for you guys to get your fill, before we return to port late afternoon.

Getting There/Away

The best option is to fly into the international airport of Athens. You can fly from most airports in the UK, Athens also has great connections across Europe.

From Athens there are three options to get to Alimos Marina. Option 1, bus from the airport which takes 1 hour 20 minutes and costs 5 Euros, Option 2 is the train which costs 10 Euros and takes 1 hour or Option 3, taxi which takes 35-40 minutes and costs 10-15 Euros per person. You’re bound to be on the same flight as a host of other people, so don’t worry too much about the transfers until closer to your arrival.

Flights

We’ll be sailing from Alimos Marina,  at 4pm on Saturday 24th August, but don’t worry if you arrive after 4pm on a later flight, on Saturday evening we’ll be anchored and celebrating our first night in the bay of Sounio.
