The Property & Its Heritage
Brown Beach House is a boutique design hotel sitting on the island of Čiovo, just across the water from Trogir’s UNESCO-listed old town. The building itself carries real character — it’s a beautifully restored early 20th-century tobacco warehouse known locally as Duhanka, blending industrial heritage with contemporary luxury. The hotel is operated by the Israeli-based Brown Hotels group, known for design-forward boutique properties, and it’s one of the most distinctive hotels on the Dalmatian coast.
Conference & Business Facilities
This is where Brown Beach House operates more as a boutique venue than a large convention centre.
The intimate scale makes it particularly well-suited to smaller, high-end conferences and executive retreats — typically up to around 35 delegates — rather than large-scale conventions. The combination of the beach club, poolside terraces, and private dining spaces means the social side of any conference programme can be genuinely impressive, even if the formal meeting room capacity is modest.
Best of all? Delegates can use the facilities even if not staying at Browns.
Facilities
Pool & Beach
The hotel features a designer outdoor swimming pool, a seasonal sea aqua park directly on the Adriatic, and spa facilities with a further pool. The beach club itself sits right on the water’s edge, with comfortable sunbeds, parasols, and stunning views across the bay.
Dining & Bars
The flagship restaurant, Cartina, serves contemporary Mediterranean seafood cuisine overlooking the sea and mountains — a genuine highlight. There are also two bars and lounge spaces, making it easy to host informal networking receptions alongside more structured dining.
Spa & Wellness
A lavish spa and wellness centre is available on-site, offering a genuine retreat for attendees looking to decompress between sessions.
Recreation
The hotel can arrange snorkelling trips, cycling, horseback riding, and general sightseeing — useful for social programmes around a conference schedule.

Location & Proximity to Trogir’s Attractions
The hotel’s location is one of its strongest assets for conference guests wanting to explore the area.
The Sea — The hotel sits directly on the Adriatic, with its beach club offering immediate waterfront access. The views across the bay towards Trogir’s old town are genuinely spectacular.
Trogir Old Town (UNESCO World Heritage Site) — Roughly a 10-minute walk or a very short boat transfer across the channel. The old town’s medieval streets, Romanesque cathedral, and waterfront promenade are among the finest in Dalmatia and make an ideal backdrop for an evening social programme.
Key Landmarks — The City Hall and Duke’s Palace are around 0.6 km away; the Central Square of Trogir is approximately 0.8 km; the Tower Kamerlengo (a striking 15th-century Venetian fortress) is around 1.3 km; and the Trogir Town Museum is 0.9 km away.
Split Airport — Just 5 km (around 3 miles) away, making logistics straightforward for international delegates flying in.
Split City — The broader Dalmatian capital of Split, with Diocletian’s Palace and a thriving dining and nightlife scene, is approximately 30 km along the coast — easily reachable for a day excursion or evening dinner.
